Here is some interesting facts about platypuses for you:
When first found scientists believed that the specimen presented was an elaborate hoax stitched together from a duck and an otter or something.
Males are also venomous. They have sharp stingers on the heels of their rear feet and can use them to sting you like a bitch.Folds of skin cover their eyes and ears to prevent water from entering, and the nostrils close with a watertight seal.
They also lay eggs which is unusual as they are mammals.
Unlike most other mammals they don't have nipples, instead they leak the milk through the skin on there underside.
